Alpine GTA Le Mans May 2007
WITHDRAWN FROM SALE SOLD
No expense has been spared maintaining this
beautiful and very rare car - there are only 26 RHD examples. This is No 19.
I have a full service history and all bills plus original documentation all the
way from its sale to the original owner. As far as I know this is the only RHD
example in powder blue metallic and I have the original supporting documentation
about the factory respray - the standard colour for UK Le Mans was maroon
metallic.
I also have two sets of keys, radio code and the original hexagonal spanner for
removing the wheel centre caps. I also have a set of "LE MANS" show plates.
Absolutely stock apart from upgraded brakes and a boost adjuster (never used as
we can't get past the boost limiter!).
Known problems - alloys need refurbishing but this could be done prior to sale
by negotiation. One centre cap missing and a flake of paint is missing from the
front of one sill. Wearing nearly new Toyo Proxes T1Rs but never used for
trackdays (not by me anyway). The door solenoids don't work and the electric
windows can be a little temperamental. Rear heated windscreen is also has a
snapped connection needing repair with specialised conductive glue.
4k recently spent on new head gaskets, timing chain and tensioners, plus brake
upgrade, boost adjuster and blue Samco hoses (not in photos) but the rise in
mortgage interest rates forces a very reluctant sale. £15,995 ono

Alpine GTA Le-Mans (1990) REVISED
OCTOBER SOLD
Alpine GTA Le-Mans, 1990, badged No.3 of Limited Edition of 25. However, this is
actually chassis No.1.
Bordeaux Pearl and black roof as with all Le-Mans cars, but unusual in having
full black leather interior, and air conditioning from original. I suspect that
this car was upgraded generally as the Renault demonstrator. 60,000m showing,
but new speedo fitted at 20,000m, therefore 80,000m total.
Virtual full rebuild by Alpine Renault Racing in 2001, new 2.5 V6 turbo
including detailed rebuild, silicone hoses, the catalytic convertor has been
bypassed, (i.e. back to full power and some,) new A610 clutch, uprated discs and
pads, factory rebuilt aircon compressor and modern gas conversion, stainless
steel exhaust (superb sound), Alpine CD and graphic equaliser ( also superb
sound!)
This car seats 4 adults comfortably, and drives and handles like a dream.
I have owned the car since July 2000. However, currently I do not have a garage,
and I am also planning extensive building work. Consequently, I have decided
that the car needs to be sold. I also do not use it enough and it is a car that
needs to be used, and should be used regularly being extremely practical and
relatively economic all round.
The bodywork and interior are excellent. The car has a new MOT running through
to April 2006.
The car has just returned from Roadspeed, and has the aircon receiver-dryer
replaced and the system serviced. It has also had the chassis overhaul completed
100% where all work is warranted by Roadspeed.
The special Le Mans alloys are generally in reasonable condition but would
benefit from a professional repolish at some time. As you will know this can be
done by several specialists at around £40.00 per wheel. Three tyres are brand
new and the fourth is nearly new. ( These are much cheaper and very available
for the Le Mans compared to the ordinary GTA’s as the size matches those of the
911 generally.)
The photographs included should show the general condition that you will find
with my car. Being such a rare car it is impossible to value, or easily get
comparisons, and this is the chassis No. 1 of the original run. I do know its
one of the rarest cars when one goes to Goodwood Revival, or Festival of Speed
events, and does create considerable interest anywhere it goes. ( Makes Ferrari
250 GTO look common.)
The last Le Mans sold earlier this year for £12000.00 but was without leather or
air conditioning. I am looking therefore for sensible offers in view of all the
above.
The car currently has a private registration plate, which might be available by
separate negotiation.
