Interior

GTA

The standard GTA interior was finished in ribbed velour (grey or black) or leather (black or beige). Unfortunately for whatever reason the factory fitted random combinations of door card and console variations.

For example it is possible to have a car with grey velour seats, black door cards and a black leather centre console. It would seem that the seat trim colour was specified and then all the other components were fitted according to whatever was at hand. So if you have black velour seats don't assume the door cards have faded, they could just be grey. Re-matching the seat trim to the door trim can quickly improve the look of a car. You may find another owner with the opposite combination who is willing to swop.

If you are particularly (un)fortunate your car may be one of the handful fitted with the 'interesting' tweed trim normally reserved for the LHD market.

Full leather is very rare, usually just the seats are fitted with a combination of velour or vinyl for the rest of the interior. The leather centre console also has leather clad lids and the leather dash may come with or without a map pocket (flap) on the passenger side.

The floor plan is flat and it is relatively easy to fit after market seats either fixed or reclining.

Thanks to David Gentleman for this picture of his GTA which he has fitted with Cobra seats.

All cars were fitted with the green / grey carpet. Replacing this with black carpet can transform the interior.

The vinyl trim components were usually all black although some of the tweed cars had brown vinyl to match the seats. This can be dyed.

Early cars had fixed rear seats while later cars had split folding rears with a seperate ECU cover. Later leather seats had velour side or suede panels on the console side to reduce squeaking.

LE MANS

Generally grey velour with grey vinyl. A handful of cars were ordered with two tone grey/black leather as fitted to the LHD cars. Some cars have been retro-fitted with black leather.

A610

Grey patterned velour or grey leather only for RHD cars. All cars had a grey leather dash. LHD cars were available with green or blue leather to special order. End of the line Magny Cours versions had black leather seats.

STEERING WHEEL

This is a unique 4 bolt fitment in all cars. It is possible to by an adaptor ring or replacement boss if you wish to fit an aftermarket wheel with the standard 6 bolt fixing. Tall drivers may find a flat bottomed wheel more comfortable.
